Route
Day 1 - Montreal - Bas-Saint-Laurent
Departure from Montreal and direction Gaspésie.
Take your car to Kamouraska, a small village not far from the inn.
According to National Geographic, the sunset on the St. Lawrence River is the second most beautiful in the world, just after Hawaii.
Day 2 - Rimouski et Domaine Valga
Discover the Portes de l’Enfer Canyon near Rimouski then take the road to Domaine Valga.
After a passage in the Bic National Park and a night in a typical wooden hut in Valga, continuation of the trip in Gaspésie.
Day 3 - Baie des Chaleurs
One night at the Auberge Wanta-Qo-Ti.
The next day: 20 km (6-7 hours by canoe) down the Bonaventure River with a guide (preparation of lunch on a campfire).
Day 4 and 5 - Percé
You spend one night at the hotel. Then visit Bonaventure Island.
Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island form the Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock National Park. It is possible to access Percé Rock on foot when the tide is low.
Possibility to take a boat to spend the day on Bonaventure Island to hike to see Northern Gannets.
Day 6 - Forillon National Park
On the way to Gaspésie National Park, possible stop at Forillon National Park.
The view from the tower of Mont Saint-Alban is magnificent. There is a 250 meters difference in altitude to reach it.
Day 7, 8 and 9 - Gaspésie National Park
2 nights in the Gaspésie National Park in a Huttopia tent: fully equipped tent with sheets, cooking equipment and a fridge. To see the wild animals:
– The Mont-Jacques-Cartier hike (8.3 km, elevation gain of 465 meters) allows you to see caribou. The hike is accessible only in the morning.
– The Mont-Ernest-Laforce hike (4.5 km, elevation gain of 155 meters) allows you to see moose.
For families: the Lac-aux-Américains is a short hike without difficulty that offers a beautiful view of a large lake surrounded by mountains.
Day 9 - Matane and Tadoussac
The next day, possibility to take a zodiac to go see the whales on the St. Lawrence. The St. Lawrence is one of the best places in the world for whale-watching.
Reach Tadoussac.
Spend a night in Tadoussac in a typical inn.
Day 10 and 11 - Quebec
The trip ends with a visit of Quebec City via the Montmorency Falls. Possibility to visit the castle of Frontenac.
One night in Quebec City at the Hôtel du Vieux-Québec.
