Route

Day 1 - Montreal - Venice

Direct flight with Air Transat.

Day 2 - Venice

On arrival, transfer from the airport to the hotel in Venice. In the afternoon, lunch is in a local restaurant. Then, meeting with your English speaking guide and departure for an excursion to Venice. Panoramic walking tour of the city, you will be able to admire and discover the origins and history of the most important sites and monuments of Venice such as the Plaza San Marco and its basilica, the Doge’s palace, the bell tower, the clock tower and the church of Santa Maria Formosa. The tour ends at San Marco Square.

Welcome dinner in a local restaurant. Accommodation in Venice.

Day 3 - Venice

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a half-day excursion to the islands of Murano and Burano. Crossing between Venice and Murano by boat and visit of a blown glass factory. Continuation to Burano, known for its lace and colourful little fishermen’s houses. You will continue for a visit of the Doge’s Palace. Experience a true return to the past with this unforgettable visit to the Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), this building has a Gothic architecture that has marked history with its political power. You will be amazed by the details of the scala doro (golden staircase) and the numerous paintings by the greatest artists of the time. You will relive the anguish of the prisoners who had to cross the Bridge of Sighs to get to the prison.

Day 4 - Venice - Verona

Breakfast at the hotel. The day is dedicated to the wines of the Veneto region. You will visit 2 vineyards where you will have wine tasting. Lunch in one of the vineyards then continuation to visit the producer Maculan. Evening meal in a local restaurant or in our hotel. Accommodation in Verona.

Day 5 - Verona - Sirmione (Lake Garda)

After breakfast at the hotel, departure for a visit of Verona (with your guide), the city of love popularized by the romantic and tragic works of Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet. Discovery of the city with your guide including Juliet’s balcony and the arena (outdoor). Free lunch. Departure to your hotel in Sirmione with a visit of Lake Garda and a boat trip on the lake (approximately 3 hours).

Evening meal in a local restaurant. Accommodation in Sirmione.

Day 6 - Lake Garda

Breakfast at the hotel. The day is dedicated to the wines of the Veneto region. Lunch in one of the vineyards. Evening meal in a local restaurant or in your hotel. Accommodation in Sirmione.

Day 7 - Sirmione - Piedmont - Turin

After breakfast at the hotel, departure for your hotel in Piedmont, on the way to visit the cities of Alba and Asti. Lunch in a local restaurant or in a vineyard.

Evening meal in a local restaurant. Accommodation in Turin.

Day 8 - Turin - La Spezia

After breakfast an excursion to the Royal Castle of Racconigi. The rest of the day is devoted to visits to the vineyards of the Piedmont region with lunch included. Evening meal in a local restaurant. Accommodation in La Spezia.

Day 9 - La Spezia - Cinque Terre

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a day trip to Cinque Terre. The visit to Cinque Terre will take you to discover five villages nestled between land and sea, built on steep cliffs and coves that descend to the sea. Whoever visits the Cinque Terre will choose between a plunge into the sea, a hike on the hills, a walk in its narrow streets, a boat trip, a pilgrimage to a sanctuary or a succulent seafood meal. Cinque Terre, a natural paradise declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique landscape where man and nature have lived together in harmony since the dawn of time. The Cinque Terre card is valid for one day and includes unlimited train travel between Levanto and La Spezia, use of the ecological shuttle bus between the five villages, entering all the walking paths. Return to your hotel.

Day 10 - La Spezia - Pisa - Lucca - Greve in Chianti

After breakfast, departure for a visit of Pisa and Lucca. Lunch in a fattoria Il Poggio. Transfer to Greve in Chianti and accommodation in Castello Vicchiomaggio (or similar). (This castle dates back to the 1400’s. It is perfectly preserved and has been recognized as a national monument. During its long and glorious history, many personalities have stayed here, including Leonardo da Vinci and Francesco Redi, among others. The castle is part of a park of more than 140 hectares. An infinity swimming pool is available to guests from June 15 to September 30).

Day 11 - Greve in Chianti - Florence - Greve in Chianti

Breakfast and departure for an excursion to Florence. Afternoon visit to a local vineyard for a wine tasting.

Day 12 - Greve in Chianti - Siena - Montepulciano

Breakfast and departure for an excursion to Siena, followed by a visit to Montepulciano. After lunch included), visit to a local vineyard for a wine tasting.

Day 13 - Greve in Chianti

Day dedicated to the regional wine festival (transfers included). Accommodation in Greve in Chianti.

Day 14 - Greve in Chianti - San Gimignano

Breakfast and departure for an excursion to San Gimignano. Afternoon visit to a local vineyard for a wine tasting.

Day 15 - Greve in Chianti - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento

Breakfast and early morning departure for Naples. On arrival, enjoy a panoramic tour to the top of the Vomero hill to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city and its gulf, Mount Vesuvius, Capri and Ischia. Continuation to Pompeii, lunch where you will enjoy a real Neapolitan pizza. Then, guided visit of the archaeological site of the city which was both destroyed and preserved by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Continuation to Sorrento. Accommodation in Sorrento.

Day 16 - Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day (or optional excursion). Evening meal at the hotel. Accommodation in Sorrento.

Day 17 - Sorrento - Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Sorrento to Rome. In the afternoon guided tour of Rome with visit of the Colosseum (inside) and the Roman Forum. Evening meal.

Day 18 - Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour by bus and on foot of the classical monuments of Rome. Crossing Piazza della Republicca you will see the Trevi Fountain, the Colonna di Marco Aurelio and the Palazzo di Montecitorio. Guided tour of the interior of the Pantheon and continuation to Palazzo Madama and Piazzo Navona. You will then pass in front of the Sant’Angelo Castle. Lunch free. Guided visit of the tapestry gallery and the map gallery. You will then walk to the Sistine Chapel, where you will have free time in the chapel (without a guide). When the chapel is closed, extension of the visit to the Vatican Museums. Afterwards, free visit of St. Peter’s Basilica (without guide). Outside visit only when a religious ceremony is held in the basilica.

Day 19 - Rome - Montreal

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel in Rome to the airport to catch your return flight.
