Route
Day 1 - Vienna, Austria
After you embark, take advantage of the day to explore the ancient capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Vienna is filled with a romantic atmosphere with its manicured gardens and old streets lined with old mansions. Walk the circular avenue, Ringstrasse, looking for places where famous musicians were born or died.
Day 2 - Vienna, Austria
We are staying at the port today. Take advantage of this day to visit Schönbrunn Palace, an impressive imperial residence, the Hofburg Palace and the unmissable Vienna Opera House.
Do not resist and taste in an elegant café connected to Viennese chocolate.
Day 3 - Dürnstein and Melk, Austria
It is in Dürnstein, in the Dachau Valley, that you can admire the terraced vineyards along the Danube or meet the castle at the top of the mountain. The city is surrounded by green forests, harmonious slopes… a real postcard!
In the afternoon, we will dock at Melk where there are hidden gems including the abbey. Serene and majestic, an elegant wooden bridge will lead you to the town hall of the village dating from the 16th century.
Day 4 - Linz, Austria
Named European Capital of Culture in 2009, Linz marries the present and the future while bowing to the past. Its past is medieval and stands alongside with neo-classical, baroque and even neo-renaissance. All its periods are in close proximity and coexist in harmony. Optionally, take a tour with a private guide so you don’t miss anything.
Day 5 - Passau, Germany
Where the Inn and Ilz rivers meet, at the confluence of the Danube, sits the city of Passau.
You are in the last town of Bavaria. Passau is steeped in the architecture of the Italian masters, which is why it is nicknamed the Bavarian Venice.
Go for a walk in the picturesque alleys of the old town. Not to be missed: Saint-Stephan Cathedral and the Citadel Jacket Oberhaus.
Day 6 - Passau, Germany
We stay at the port. If you are there between the end of April and the beginning of May, or in September, take advantage of the Oktoberfest. Otherwise, opt for a bike ride in the Bavarian countryside. Enchantment is guaranteed.
Day 7 - Bratislava, Slovakia
Capital of Slovakia, Bratislava is special. 18th century buildings pleasantly rub shoulders with modern art. Museums, cathedrals, palaces and cafes are under the surveillance of the Gothic castle at the top of the city. Stroll the cobbled streets of its old 18th century districts and climb up to Bratislava Castle to enjoy the Danube view. End your getaway in one of its many lively cafes.
Day 8 - Budapest, Hungary
You will be amazed when you arrive in Budapest. The chain bridge connecting Budapest is a marvel of architecture. You have to see the castle of Budapest, an old town built on hills and descend slowly by the chain bridge towards the district of Budapest. Stop to photograph the Hungarian Parliament with its dome raised to 96 m in height.
Tonight you have the chance to attend the concert of the Princesses of the Violin at the Budapest Museum.
Day 9 - Budapest, Hungary
Your stay in Budapest cannot be complete without a stop at one of the many thermal baths that have made the city famous. As we stay at the wharf until the early afternoon, you have plenty of time to recharge your batteries. Otherwise, enjoy all the comfort and services on the boat during the morning.
