Route

Day 1 - Tel Aviv

Your guide will be waiting for you upon arrival at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport for your transfer to the Royal Floor Hotel for one night, a luxurious 5-star hotel within walking distance of the famous Dizengoff Street. Enjoy the rest of the day to wrap yourself in the unique atmosphere of the surrounding area.

Day 2 - Tiberias

After your breakfast, you leave for Jaffa to visit the house of Simon the Tanner and the port from which the prophet Jonah set sail. It is said that the apostle Peter visited this city. We will then go to Mount Carmel to visit Muhraqa where the Prophet Elijah met the Prophet Ba’al. Stop at Megiddo to see King Solomon’s fortifications and the fertile valley of Jezreel.

Settling in for 4 nights in Tiberias at the U Boutique Kinneret Hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and a 5 minute walk from downtown Tiberias.

 

Day 3 - Tiberias

Visit the Church of the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor after breakfast. Continuation to Nazareth for the visit of the Church of the Annunciation, the church where the angel Gabriel is said to have appeared to Mary. In the village of Nazareth we will learn about the life of Galilee in the time of Jesus. Stop at the Mount of Precipice where the citizens of Nazareth are said to have tried to throw Jesus down the mountain. From here, the view of the Jezreel Valley, Mount Tabor and Mount Gilboa is exceptional. Finally, visit Cana, known to be the site of one of the first miracles of Jesus when he changed water into wine. Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 4 - Tiberias

After breakfast, we go to the Beatitudes, the very place where Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount. Afterwards, we go to the borders of the Promised Land, to the prehistoric ruins of Tel Dan. Our pilgrimage continues to Caesarea Philippi, the place where Peter confessed to Jesus: “You are the Christ.” We’ll pass through the Golan Heights and the Valley of Tears before ending our day at Mount Bental and Katzrin, the only city in the Golan Heights.

Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 5 - Tiberias

After breakfast we leave by boat on the Sea of Galilee to visit Ginosar’s boat, a 2000 year old boat discovered in 1986. We will stop at the village of Migdal, the fishermen’s village of the New Testament, and the site of Tabgha, the place where breads and fish were multiplied.

We will have dinner at St Peter’s Fish on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

We will then drive on to the ruins of the Byzantine church in Kursi.

Before returning to the hotel at the end of the day, you will have the chance to be baptized again if you wish on the banks of the Jordan River.

Day 6 - Jerusalem

We will follow the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean to see the excavations of the ancient Roman city. Before reaching Jerusalem to visit the Church of the Nativity, we will stop at the fortress of Belvoir (Kohav HaYarden). You will also have the opportunity to climb the Judean Hills. Return to Jerusalem at the end of the day and installation at your hotel for 6 nights.

Day 7 - Jerusalem

Today we will go to the Israel Museum where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls are kept and attend a service in memory of the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis. We will end our day at the Valley of the Terebinths, the site where David fought against the giant Goliath.

Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 8 - Jerusalem

We will go to Bethphage by way of the Mount of Olives walk for the visit of the Chapel of the Ascension. We will then visit the church of Pater Noster. We will admire on the walls the prayers written in more than 85 languages. We will then walk on the Palm Sunday Walk to the Gethsemane Gardens and the Church of All Nations where you will have time to meditate. Afterwards, we will do the Stations of the Cross in the Christian Quarter before returning to the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 9 - Jerusalem

We start the day at St. Peter’s Church in Gallicante, the place where Jesus was captured before being brought before Pilate. Afterwards, we will go to the tomb of King David and visit the Last Supper room in the city of King David. Here we will visit the most important sites including the Pool of Siloam and the Tunnel of Hezekiah.

Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 10 - Jerusalem

Today we will head to the Dead Sea and the city of Jericho and visit the fortress of Masada nestled at the top of a gigantic cliff where we will take the cable car. We will also stop for a swim in the salt water of the Dead Sea. Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 11 - Jerusalem

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Montreal.
