Route
Day 1 - Vienna
Transfer to your hotel and installation for 3 nights. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the ancient capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Vienna is filled with a romantic atmosphere with its manicured gardens and ancient streets lined with old houses. Stroll along the circular avenue, the Ringstrasse, in search of the birthplaces of famous musicians.
Day 2 - Vienna
Explore the city a little more deeply by visiting the Belvedere Palace, Saint-Charles Church and Saint-Etienne Cathedral. Continue on to the Spittelberg district and end up in the museum district. Don’t resist and try a Viennese chocolate in an elegant and trendy café.
Day 3 - Vienna
Take advantage of the day to visit Schonbrunn Palace, the impressive imperial residence, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Hofburg Palace and the world-famous Vienna Opera House. In the evening, you will be invited to attend a concert in a palace.
Day 4 - Vienna / Melk / Linz
Take the road to the town of Melk where you will find real jewels, including the abbey. You can easily make a stop in Durnstein, a lovely medieval town before settling down for 2 nights in Linz.
Day 5 - Linz
Named European Capital of Culture in 2009, Linz combines the present and the future while revering the past. Its past is medieval and stands alongside neo-classical, baroque and even neo-renaissance. All of these periods coexist in harmony. As an option, take a tour with a private guide to make sure you don’t miss anything. To complete your exploration of the city, climb the Postlingberg hill with the tourist tram for a breathtaking view.
Day 6 - Linz / Salzbourg
Visit the Salzkammergut region to discover Bad Ischl and Hallstatt, which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Then drive to Salzburg where you will stay for 2 nights.
Day 7 - Salzbourg
Tour of Salzburg including Mozart’s birth house, Hohensalzburg fortress, St. Peter’s quarter, Mirabellplatz, Pegasus Fountain and the Dwarf Garden. The lively atmosphere and the special charm of Salzburg can be experienced while strolling through its historic centre. The old town is easy to visit on foot. It is divided in two by the river Salzach.
Day 8 - Salzbourg / Innsbruck
Drive to Innsbruck in Tyrol where you will stay for 3 nights. The capital of the Alps overflowing with charming villages, Innsbruck guarantees its visitors exceptional moments thanks to the close link between the city and the mountains. In the capital of the Alps, you can go from the medieval city centre to the sunny terrace of a restaurant at 2000 metres above sea level in just 20 minutes.
Day 9 - Innsbruck
We suggest the ascent of the Hungerburg station (1905 m) by cable car. You won’t regret it!
Day 10 - Innsbruck
Spend the day in one of the villages that form the Tyrol or just relax.
Day 11 - Innsbruck / Neuschwanstein / Munich
You can’t leave the region without taking some pictures of Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous castle in Germany. Then head for Munich.
Day 12 - Munich
Take a city tour including the Marienplatz (Old Town) and the Glockenspiel (City Hall carillon that rings for 8 minutes with spinning figures).
Day 13 - Munich
Go to the Viktualienmarkt, a market for gourmets, and dine in a trendy brewery. If you still have time, visit the BMW World and its museum if you are interested in a car.
Day 14 - Munich / Montreal
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Montreal.
