Prologue in Vietnam, epilogue in Cambodia

Indochina will know how to seduce you, if it hasn't already done so. First of all approach it by Vietnam, totally exotic along its rivers and its forgotten villages in the heart of its rice terraces. See the imperial cities and also its ethnic minorities proud of their traditions. Finish with Cambodia and the sumptuous temple of Angkor. Get in touch with these resilient peoples who have learned the hard way not to give up. Now is the time to see these people reborn to life without fear of the sounds and smells left behind by war. We must rediscover with them the temples buried in the forest, the pleasures of a sampan or bicycle ride and listen to them tell us about their love of life. Odyssea takes care of the main lines of your project and what can cause worries and you take care of admiring, meandering, conjugating your adventure.

Route

Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh

Upon arrival, transfer and installation at your hotel for 2 nights. Then, go to discover the Vietnamese life. Old Saigon is proud of its French architecture: Gustave Eiffel’s central post office, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Reunification Palace will remind you a little bit of France. But it will stop there, because Ho Chi Minh lives in the effervescence and incessant noise of its motorcycles. One wonders where they go all the time like that! Don’t miss Chinatown, the Cholon district and, at the end of the day, opt for a gastronomic restaurant to savour Vietnamese cuisine. You’ll be spoilt for choice.

Day 2 - Ho Chi Minh

Go to the famous Cu Chi tunnels, dug during the Vietnam War. You’ll be amazed to learn about their ingenuity. The Vietnamese spent 7 years there: deaths and births, divorces and marriages… life took its rights. Did you know they dug 250 km of tunnels?

Day 3 - Can Tho

You will be transferred to My Tho for a boat trip on the Mekong River through orchards. You will have the chance to meet local families in their orchards. At the end of the day, you will head to Can Tho, the centre of the Mekong Delta where you will stay for 2 nights.
