Route
Day 1: Montreal
Day 2: Zagreb - Opatija
Day 3: Opatija
Morning departure to the village of Motovun, located in the centre of the Istrian peninsula, a region also known as the Tuscany of Croatia due to its gastronomy and fine products. Continuation to an observation point in the town of Motovun where you can enjoy the beautiful view and take pictures of the magnificent panorama. Continuation to a truffle hunting activity at a renowned truffle producer in the region. Accompanied by the staff and their dogs, you will go hunting and pick the mushrooms for tasting after the activity. Continue to Rovinj, the most beautiful small coastal town in Istria. Built on a rocky outcrop, the old church of St. Euphémia is located at the top. Return to Opatija at the end of the day and supper included.
Day 4: Opatija - Rab
This morning transfer to the harbour to board the yacht Black Swan or Futura (depending on the date) for your 7 night cruise. Depart at 1 pm for Rab, known as the island of love with an old town of the same name. Guided tour of the city to see the medieval walls and the famous four towers as well as palaces, churches and many small squares. Tasting of the Rab cake which, according to legend, was created by local nuns for a visiting Pope. Welcome cocktail and supper on board.
Day 5: Rad - Zadar
After breakfast, departure to Zadar, the oldest university town in Croatia. Guided tour of this city with an exceptional heritage: its Roman forum from the 1st century, the 9th century church of St. Donatus, the most famous medieval basilica and the symbol of the city, the powerful city walls as well as several churches, museums, palaces and villas of former noble families.
Day 6: Zadar - Krka Falls - Sibenik
Sailing towards Skradin. Departure to the Bibich vineyard for a wine tasting and a light tapas lunch. Continuation to the Krka Falls National Park and visit of the “Skradinski Buk”, the most popular part of the park with its 17 waterfalls, cascades up to 100 meters wide. There is a possibility to swim under the crystal clear waterfalls, so don’t forget your swimming suit! In the afternoon you will travel to Sibenik, which is almost in the centre of Croatia’s Adriatic coast. Exploration of the glorious old town, cultural monuments, the most famous of which is the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral of St. James. Supper on board.
Day 7: Sibenik - Split
Day 8: Split - Korcula
Departure for Korcula, known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, the famous explorer. The island’s distinguishing feature is the almost black pine trees that form the forest and cover a large part of the island. This is why Korcula is also known as the “black island”. The town of Korcula resembles a mini-city of Dubrovnik, as it is surrounded by medieval stone walls and towers. Guided tour of the old town where tiny streets are designed in a fishbone pattern for a reason you will discover. Free time on site before returning to the ship.
Day 9: Korkula - Trstenik
Morning sail to the Peljesac peninsula, famous for its excellent wine. Before lunch, short stop and arrival in the early afternoon on the Peljesac peninsula. You will move away from the coast to explore the rural areas. In the afternoon you will travel to a village to visit a local farm, attend a typical village feast including a supper of Croatian specialties, prepared from their own products. Late return to the yacht. Overnight in Trstenik.
Day 10: Trstenik - Dubrovnik
The best way to discover Dubrovnik is by sea. The last stop on your cruise, Dubrovnik is one of the few walled cities on the sea front. You will sail along the old city walls for a superb perspective on the splendour of this place. Lunch is served on the deck to enjoy the city. Guided walking tour of the city. Free time for a walk along the famous old city walls or take the cable car up to Srd for a fabulous view of the city and the Elaphite Islands. Return to the yacht.
