Urban trip and Mexican beaches

You've seen and heard famous mariachis before. You know all about tortillas and tacos. If you want to travel differently, stay in Mexico City, Puebla and Puerto Vallarta. They will take you somewhere else. To begin, the conquistadors, the Aztec ruins, the effervescence of a surprising urbanity will give way to another Mexico, that of its villages, including Puebla, which will charm you. To rest and reflect or not on the history, a luxury stay by the beach, in Puerto Vallarta, in the Velas where everything is only charm and voluptuousness, will end this unique stay. Odyssea will take care of the main lines of your project and what can cause worries and you will take care of admiring, snaking, conjugating your adventure.

Route

Day 1 - Mexico City

Arrival in Mexico City and installation at your hotel for 4 nights. Then head to the center to immerse yourself in history: the Plaza de la Constitucion, better known as the Zocalo, the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace and the archaeological site of the Templo Mayor will make you discover national treasures. To experience the authentic Mexico, you must visit Garibaldi Square between the scent of tequila and the music of the mariachis. A twenty-minute walk westward will take you to the Plaza de la Republica, where you will find the Monument to the Revolution, whose underground section houses a museum.

After this first approach to the culture of the capital, you can extend your visit to the Zona Rosa, where the restaurants and atmospheric bars welcome you until the end of the night.

Day 2 - Mexico City

We suggest a bike ride to the Chapultepec neighborhood and its park, the largest and most emblematic green lung in Mexico City. A few turns of the pedal will then take you to the Moctezuma Baths, a circular pool that was once connected to the ancient springs flowing at the foot of the Cerro del Chapulin. Continue along the main avenue and take a break in front of the Canadian Totem, a fascinating wooden sculpture donated by the Canadian people to Mexico in 1960. In the park is the Chapultepec Castle, which offers an excellent vantage point for taking pictures. You will also find the Museum of Modern Art and the imposing Museum of Anthropology.

Day 3 - Mexico City

Discover the bohemian districts: the Condesa, Roma, Coyoacan and San Angel districts, tourist poles where you will find welcoming cafes, historical squares, restaurants and trendy clubs of the city. It is in the Coyocoan district, the “Barrio Magico”, that you will find the house, the Casa Azul, of the famous painter Frida Kahlo at 247 London Street. Take a bite at the market of antojitos, the typical Mexican snacks.

Day 4 - Mexico City

Visit the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, a city built on this location by the Aztecs. The archaeological site is one of the most beautiful in Mexico. The main road that crosses the center of the site, called the Causeway of the Dead, is almost 2.5 km long and 40 meters wide. You can see the most impressive building, the Pyramid of the Sun, as well as the Temple and Palace of Quetzalpápalotl.

Day 5 - Puebla

Transfer by private car to the city of Puebla, one of the oldest cities in Mexico and UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The city is located in the center of Mexico and is dominated by the 2 famous volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.

Upon arrival, installation at your hotel for 3 nights.

Rest of the day free to wander around the beautiful city of Puebla with its winding streets and artists’ alleys.

Day 6 - Puebla

Visit the city’s emblematic places and squares: the Rosary Chapel, the most sumptuous part of the Santo Domingo Church, the Palafoxiana Library, the first public library on the American continent, the El Parián market, located in the old San Roque square, the perfect place to acquire traditional handicrafts from the region and the Puebla Cathedral, located near El Zocaló, the city’s main square.

Day 7 - Puebla

Day off.

Possible activities :

  1. We propose you a “food tour”:

What really fills the people of Puebla with pride is their gastronomy, one of the most emblematic and succulent in the country. The world capital of the mole, chiles en nogada and chalupas, Puebla gives you a taste of paradise with its desserts that can only be born of the creativity of angels: camotes, tortitas de Santa Clara and jamoncillos with walnuts and pine nuts are just some of the highlights of a long list.

       2. Let yourself be tempted by a hike on the famous Popocatépetl.

Day 8 - Puerto Vallarta

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Vallarta.

Upon arrival, transfer and installation at your luxurious hotel, the Velas, for 3 nights.
